Fusing and/or kiln formed glass are techniques
by which designs are shaped from compatible
COE type sheets of glass and other forms of
glass stock. Depending on the design, the glass
is cut, shaped and assembled, then fired in a kiln
at temperatures from 1300 to 1500 degrees
Fahrenheit. At these temperatures, glass pieces
fuse to form a single layer of glass.
For the types of pieces we produce, the fusing
and annealing process takes 12 to 18 hours.
Annealing is a specific step-down firing program
used to achieve strength and durability to the
finished piece. Annealing must be done every
time the glass is heated to high temperatures.

product. The slumping and
